  • Thank you for sharing this wonderful story! You had me reaching for the tissue box!!!! Yet again! You really are an encourager! …and though we haven’t spent lots of time together, I can tell you that it’s a pleasure and a true blessing to know you.

  • “You learn a new language of loving sacrificially”–I love those words–they are so very true (even when your babies are 20 and 21 😉 ). Congratulations on your newest sweetheart.

  • Emily, not only do you capture souls in photos you also capture them in words. You are a gift to your family and to all of us who are blessed to know you! I am going t link your blog to my sister (with a 7 month old) who will appreciate your words as well. You will get a “two-fer” for your words of wisdom 🙂

  • I’d be willing to bet that your kind and heartfelt words will stay with her for years to come. You’re an amazing person, for taking the time to recognize the needs of a young mother, while you yourself were being stretched. This is the first words of yours I’ve ever read, but what an amazing first impression I have of you!

  • Wow! What an incredible opportunity that you used beautifully. Thank you for sharing it! I especially appreciate your words- “You learn how to be gracious with yourself”- yes. The best lesson I have learned in caring for my four little ones.
    Beautiful post!!!

  • Wow. Thanks for sharing this story. Amazing. Good for you for taking that risk of being real with someone who may or may not have really wanted such an indepth answer. You gambled that she did, and it paid off. It is an inspiration to be more real with the random people we encounter every day.
